Shirin Edwin is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, NYU Shanghai, and Global Network Associate Professor, NYU. She is the author of L’islam mis en relation: Le roman francophone de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Kimé, 2009) and Privately Empowered: Expressing Feminism in Islam in Northern Nigerian Fiction (Northwestern University Press, 2016).
