Mi Tian is an Early Career Fellow in China Studies at the Henry Luce Foundatio and the American Council of Learned Societies. A specialist in Chinese art history with a focus on late imperial times (ca. 1300–1900), she received her PhD from Princeton University. Her current book project explores the intersection of art and technology, with particular attention to how artistic practices engaged technical knowledge, craft processes, and institutional infrastructures during the Qing dynasty. More broadly, her research and teaching interests include Chinese painting and calligraphy, material culture, heritage conservation, intraregional exchanges in East Asia, and cross-cultural interactions between East Asia and the West.
